Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

May 5, 2014

Here is that Cinco de Mayo party we were telling you to watch for! Remember we were saying how you can't go wrong with latin music, bright colors and delicious food. Well just imagine Latin music casually playing as you go through this bright and exciting Cinco de Mayo fiesta. Not too mention the food was out of this world amazing.

We created each festive centerpiece with gold spray painted terracotta pots, cactus and a Mexican blanket table runner. It was very simple, yet so festive and inviting.

We streamed lights and our fiesta flag banner across the balcony to give a some what romantic feel. Lights always bring such a enjoyable and magical feel to any outdoor gathering.

The centerpiece for our kid table may look familiar. We used it here for our spring centerpiece. We always love reusing what we already have to save a little money. We added the cacti for a more festive feel.

These cactus in the cans and terracotta pots were used to decorate our food table. With so much food we needed something small and simple that did not overwhelm the table.

Taco Baskets, Cactus, Jarritos, Salsa, Chips, Fruit, Guacamole, Tortilla, Carne Asada, Shrimp
Here is a snapshot of all the amazing food. We served our tacos and homemade chips and salsa in red plastic baskets lined with red checkered paper. It was festive and made for a very quick and easy clean up. We love using plastic for that purpose.

Our guests had the choice between Carne Asada fajita tacos or marinated shrimp tacos. They also had several tortillas to choose from. There were corn, whole wheat flour or white flour tortillas.

They could garnish their tacos with cabbage, fresh homemade salsa, homemade guacamole, cilantro lime dressing and limes. We also served fruit.

The cherry on top was this amazing Mexican dress Mackenzie wore. We all wished we had one of our own.
Everything was so satisfying and it was a pleasant evening to sit and chat with friends and family.

We would love to hear some fun ideas you used at your Cinco de Mayo party!

    1. Kelley! We found it on Amazon, we had to look through many to find one that looked like good quality. We did alter it a little bit ourselves after we got it. We could look into the name of the seller if you are interested.

    2. If it is not too much trouble I would definitely love to know the name of the seller! I have been looking on Amazon but can tell that none of the ones I have found so far look to be as high quality as this one! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! :)

    3. Kelley I'm so sorry I looked in my past orders on Amazon and the history doesn't go back that far. I'm sorry we can't help you more.
