Cinco de Mayo

May 3, 2014

We are so excited for Cinco de Mayo! Although we are not hispanic we still enjoy eating unlimited chips and salsa, listening to Latin music and decorating our patio with bright, exciting colors.

Here are five essentials to your Cinco de Mayo party! They are just about all you need to make your celebration successful with the exception of chips, salsa, and a good taco.

Cactus, piñata, guacamole, chips and salsa, garland, strawberry limeade

A festive center piece will excite your guest and jazz up your tables. Of course candy and a piñata for the young ones to enjoy is a must.

For the centerpieces we just went to the hispanic section of the grocery store and got a bunch of cans we thought were cute and matched our Mexican rug table runner. We emptied out the cans and then filled them with cactus and succulents we got at our local nursery.

And lets not forget the guacamole and delicious beverage. You can go cheap and make a drink or we thought it would be fun to go to the local hispanic market and get authentic Mexican drinks in glass bottles. Anything in old fashion bottles is cute!

Hope you have a fun festive Cinco de Mayo. Be watching for a full post on our celebration!
